The purpose of John the Baptist

John 1:6-8 John was called to point the way to the light; Jesus.  The Lord, the God of Israel. John's Father was told Luke 1:14-17 " He will be a joy and delight to you, and many will rejoice because of his birth,   for he will be great in the sight of the Lord. He is never to take wine or other fermented drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit even before he is born.     He will bring back many of the people of Israel to the Lord their God.     And he will go on before the Lord, in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the parents to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous—to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.” And the way John was going to prepare the way for Jesus was to "to turn the hearts of the parents to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous" Lord Jesus, we pray for families in this world.  Please bless them with peace and an u...

A description of Jesus

John 1:3-5 The creator, even though we can create we can't do it without Him.  Think about it; we need the basics to create...like soil and sun!  He gave us life and that life is light to all people.  That light shines in darkness and darkness can not overcome light! Lord Jesus, thanks for always being there.  Thanks for coming to earth. Thanks for giving us life and allowing us to be light in a dark world.  Bless us with Your presence.  In Jesus name.

The Word came to earth

John 1:1-2   Have you ever read a book and wanted to watch the movie of it; or read about a theme park and went to it?  Well God created a book, the Torah and the Torah came alive through Jesus living on earth.  What makes this interesting though is Jesus was around from the beginning, before the Torah was written.  So He knows the content of the Torah and He modelled and explained the Torah. Lord Jesus, thank You for coming to earth.  For making Your word come alive.  Help us to understand it and live it.  Amen.
