Jesus' frustration

 John 6:36-40

Jesus is seeing a whole bunch of people who have seen Him but don't understand that He's God.  He's encourage though because He knows His Father will give to Him everyone who believes and His Father will help people believe.

Lord Jesus, we believe help our unbelief.  Amen

Jesus challenges those in authority

John 5:16-18 Those in authority weren't happy with Jesus because He was working on the Sabbath.  In response He said His Father never stops working and He was just doing what His Father does.  This made those in authority even more upset because they forgot they too are children of God.  They assumed because He referred to God as His Father that He was saying He was God.  As a result those in authority started to persecute Jesus. Lord Jesus, we need You and Your Holy Spirit so we know what the Father is doing.  We want to mimic the Father; even if we're persecuted.  We know it is written "If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you" 1 Peter 4:4  Would you give us faith such that other may see You and glorify our Father in heaven?  In Your mighty name.

Lord Jesus, thank You for coming to earth.  For making Your word come alive.  Help us to understand it and live it.  Amen.

John 19:28-30 After everything had been finished Jesus said He was thirsty and they gave Him vinegar wine and He died.  Jesus had been asked by God to do the hardest thing; to allow people to torture Him and have Him die a criminal death....but the story doesn't end here! Lord Jesus, how can we thank You for Your obedience to Your Father?  The passover lamb for all of us.  You are amazing!  Thank You.
